Paint Pen
What defines products with the "Paint Pen" characteristic?
Items listed under the Paint Pen attribute differ fundamentally from standard fiber or felt-tip markers. Instead of dye-based ink, these pens contain a paint-like, highly pigmented liquid. The decisive quality feature is their extremely high opacity (covering power).
A typical identifying feature is often the rattling sound of a mixing ball inside when shaken. Since the paint is thicker, the ball ensures uniform mixing of the pigments. In addition, most of these pens must be activated ("pumped") before first use by pressing the tip several times onto paper to start the paint flow.
Key benefits at a glance:
- Maximum Opacity: Brilliant colors even on black surfaces, glass, or metal.
- Permanent Adhesion: Once dry, the paint is usually smudge-proof, waterproof, and abrasion-resistant.
- Versatility: Adheres to almost all surfaces including metal, plastic, rubber (e.g., tires), wood, and stone.
- High Durability: Many paint pens are extremely lightfast and weather-resistant, making them ideal for outdoor use.
